Here at Panel Warehouse we are eager to raise money for the charity we support, Breast Cancer Campaign.
This amazing charity is a unique community of scientists, supporters and people affected by breast cancer and was set up in 1988 with the aim researching a cure
They currently support 95 projects in 33 centres across the UK and Ireland. In its lifetime the charity has awarded over 400 grants to universities, medical schools and research institutes across the UK,investing a total of over £60 million in breast cancer research.
In the last twenty years, the campaign to overcome breast cancer has gone from strength to strength, and more women are outliving the disease than ever before. But, it’s still the most common form of cancer.
Every year 50,000 women are diagnosed, 12,000 die, and millions of us live with its long-term impact.
And it’s on the increase – there are currently thought to be around 570,000 people living with or after a breast cancer diagnosis in the UK, and this figure is estimated to rise to over 1.2 million by 2030.
Here at Panel Warehouse we feel it important to help support this charity to help find a cure.
Back in October we raised over £1000 for this amazing charity and we look forward to raising more this year by taking part in the Bupa Great Manchester Run! Although the 10k will be a challenge for us, we want to stretch ourselves in order to tell people about the charity and raise as much money as possible on their behalf.
We will be working really hard by swapping the car for our feet, chocolate for fruit and takeaways for veg. As most of us don’t even walk to the corner shop never mind run a mini marathon, so we will find it hard however as a team we are going to help each other and fight to raise money for such a good cause.
